My second official stocking will be hybrid fitteds. Hybrid fitteds are just good ol’ fashioned fitteds but with a hidden layer of poly fleece. This poly fleece helps moisture re-absorb back into the insert creating a fitted diaper that will stay dry to the touch on the outside a bit longer than a conventional fitted. They do still require a cover to be absolutely waterproof but go ahead…be wild and go coverless knowing you’ve bought yourself a little bit of time to be fancy free and footloose. I do not recommend going coverless for naps, overnight or for any outings where bums sit in seats. Fleece is still prone to compression leaks when wet enough. Some of the fitteds I will be stocking have a Windpro® fleece hidden and some an anti-pill fleece.
All of the first quality diaper outers are 100% cotton and all inners are cotton velour. These are serged diapers with cased elastic using stretch nylon thread which is soft against baby’s skin.
To compensate for the lost hidden layer of absorbency that’s normally in a fitted, these will include a snap in booster which are a total of three layers of bamboo fleece (one layer of heavy bamboo fleece and two layers of regular weight bamboo fleece). The normal snap-in insert will be fold-over style made of 1 layer of coordinating cotton velour topper and two layers of heavy bamboo fleece for a total of 6 absorbent layers when folded over. The entire soaker system will be (9) total layers of absorbent material not including the inner layer of cotton velour.
I am sad to say at first it was apparent I was a little out of practice in the fitted department. But my loss is your gain. I will have three diapers available as seconds quality at a reduced price.
