Red Dog Studio has Landed in Oz

Red Dog Studio has Landed in Oz

We did it. We braved the upper level jet streams in a tin can and have arrived in the land Down Under mid-July. My sanity is happy to report the kids could not have done any better on the flight. Thirteen hours is a long time to ask active creatures to stay in their seat. It helps that their size makes it easy to curl up in a chair and they actually slept about 5-6 hours. Most impressive was their ability to stay awake until we were in the air after taking off from LAX. Which would have made it approximately 2AM Denver time. The flight was uneventful with absolutely no turbulence and a far cry from our January flight involving a medical emergency of an infant somewhere over Fiji.

For those who didn’t get the memo, Red Dog Studio has moved to the sunshine state of Queensland, Australia! From a mile high to the land down under.

We were supposed to have our shipping container packed with our worldly possessions (and perhaps most importantly, my sewing studio) delivered to our door mid-August.  After a month delay due to the ship needing to undergo engine repairs, the ship with our container hasn’t even made it to Brisbane yet.  We are hopeful it will be in port this weekend but then it still has to clear customs and quarantine. I am becoming quite itchy to sew.

All that to say, my goal is to push my creative energy into my sewing blog this year. I live between the ocean beach and the hinterlands which provides an amazing back drop and renewed inspiration for my sewing adventures. I can’t wait to hopefully share the adventure with you!
